New Year’s Eve: Host the Party of the (New) Year

New Year’s Eve: Host the Party of the (New) Year

We’ve all been to dull and lackluster New Year’s Eve parties, right? Well, let’s make this year a standout, shall we? Take the night into your own hands as you plan your next holiday bash by implementing some of our design tips to make your 2013 send-off party a hit.

For a Modern & Sleek Party

Make black your color focus. Find a table runner in a deep black like this Tuxedo Stripe Table Runner from Chilewich. Add light or white color accents to create a chic dichotomy. Use white bowls and tableware like the Manar Salt & Pepper Set to continue the monochrome look. Keep the wine and champagne close with the black Wine Chock Rack and keep funky bottle stoppers handy for extra fun function and freshness while glasses are full.

For a Glam Bash

Pull together a range of metallics with shimmering silver and glowing gold. Pair the Dahlia Placemat in gold or gunmetal with Tuxedo Stripe Table Runner in silver. Use the Jelly Plate in crystal to display the snackables at the buffet. Let the sculptural Opold Wine Bottle Holder cradle the wine and champagne for the evening as the countdown begins.

Keeping the color palette clean and simple will help your fete take flight as your New Year starts off right!

Hope you all have a splendid (and well decorated) New Year!

Greetings from Creative! I'm Catharine, one of the Graphic Designers here at SF. I spend my days designing away and working with our amazing Marketing team to make our website and brand the best it can possibly be - and then some. I also manage the SF Pinterest. Outside of my daily routine, I enjoy art, fashion, photography, learning to ballroom dance, Muz - my diva of a cat, spending time with family and friends, cooking, and generally have a passion for all things pretty and well designed. I enjoy being over the top festive for every holiday. I have way too many shoes and it takes me months to finish reading a single book. I have the potential energy to become a DIY enthusiast - but I'm not sure that myself, the world, or my roommates are ready for it yet.
