This month I am inspired by a post on one of my favorite blogs, 79Ideas. Last week, they posted a lovely bunch of photos that really caught my attention and made me realize something about my interior design aesthetic – I am really drawn to the contrast between the color white and wood textures. I hadn’t even given the title of the post any thought (“Six Ideas How To Use ‘White-Wood’ Combination In Your Home“) before scrolling through the images and figuratively drooling at the sight of them. So why not bring this beautiful “idea” to you! No matter what your personal style is, the contrast this simple combination creates can be a remarkable and stylish solution for your space. These photos really say it all and I think they are a good selection, showing different design sensibilities for different folks:

Not sure of how to pull this off your own way? I’ve picked a few of our products that could really fit the bill!
A True Classic. The Eames Dowel Leg Chair effortlessly blends this look into a remarkably versatile seat.
The Mash Studios PCH Canopy Bed. I never miss a chance to plug my favorite item on our site. I’ll let the image speak for itself.
The Herman Miller Lifework Airia Desk. This utilitarian piece embodies the white + wood look while remaining stylish and – above all – functional. It’s back for a limited time and perfect for your office. I promise.
The Lilac Standing Screen from Greenington. This minimalistic piece is perfect for the types who don’t want to drastically change their spaces to suit a trend. It’s eco friendly too – which never goes out of style.
What do you think of this look? Will you be implementing it in a space this spring? Tell us!
Greetings from Creative! I'm Catharine, one of the Graphic Designers here at SF.
I spend my days designing away and working with our amazing Marketing team to make our website and brand the best it can possibly be - and then some. I also manage the SF Pinterest. Outside of my daily routine, I enjoy art, fashion, photography, learning to ballroom dance, Muz - my diva of a cat, spending time with family and friends, cooking, and generally have a passion for all things pretty and well designed. I enjoy being over the top festive for every holiday. I have way too many shoes and it takes me months to finish reading a single book. I have the potential energy to become a DIY enthusiast - but I'm not sure that myself, the world, or my roommates are ready for it yet.
